Studio Pictures is an independent production company dedicated to quality British film and television productions that cater for domestic and international audiences.
Our core focus is on book to screen adaptations and true-life stories that are unique, can entertain and ultimately inspire.
The company was founded by producers Adam Rolston and David Braithwaite. To date Adam and David have produced or executive produced the worldwide theatrical hit A Street Cat Named Bob, based on the international best-selling novel. The sequel A Christmas Gift From Bob, the rom-com A Guide To Second Date Sex starring George McKay, the kids fantasy adventure film 2:Hrs and the hard hitting teen drama Butterfly Kisses, which won the Silver Bear for best film in its category at the International Berlin Festival.
We have access to some of the top creative talent available as well as strong relationships with sales companies, financiers and studios such as Warner Bros, Sony Pictures and leading independents Lionsgate and Studio Canal.
Studio Pictures is based at the world famous Twickenham Studios in the heart of Richmond.
Meet the team


Adam Rolston
Co-Founder & Producer
Adam produced the major feature film A Street Cat Named Bob based on the international best selling book and the sequel A Christmas Gift From Bob. Adam was also an Executive Producer on the comedy film A Guide To Second Date Sex starring George MacKay.
Adam’s background is in playwriting. He wrote the musical stage play A Sentimental Journey: The Story of Doris Day, which had successful runs in London, Edinburgh, Eastern Europe, and Los Angeles. He is a graduate of the Royal Holloway MA in Screenwriting for Film and Television.
Adam is a Countdown Octo-champ and was a quarter-finalist of the long running afternoon programme.

David Braithwaite
Co-Founder & Producer
David has over 20 years experience within the industry working across development, hands on production to sales and distribution of both film and television.
His credits include Associate Producer on A Christmas Gift From Bob, Executive Producer on both the children’s adventure film 2:Hrs and the teen drama Butterfly Kisses, which won the Crystal Bear for best film in its category at the Berlin International Film Festival. David was also an assistant director on the first series of the hit CH4 comedy Peep Show.
While Head of Acquisitions for a UK sales & distribution company, David was responsible for acquiring the Oscar nominated financial thriller Margin Call.

Nicola Pearcey
Company Partner & Executive Producer
Prior to forming Picnik Entertainment, Nicola ran Lionsgate as President of UK & Europe, where she was responsible for the leadership of the company across its film and TV business.
She helped shepherd blockbuster releases including The Hunger Games, The Expendables, La La Land and Knives Out in addition to acquisitions Military Wives, Fighting With My Family and Eddie The Eagle amongst many other developments, acquisitions and management of film and TV libraries.
Nicola was also instrumental in growing the company’s TV business in the UK with shows like The Goes Wrong Show and Motherland.
